Huron School District

New Boston, MI

Consisting of a high school, junior high, two elementary schools and a newly developed early childhood center, the Huron School District aims to ignite a passion for learning and leadership in every student.

In 2020, IDI partnered with the Huron School District to make district-wide renovations to their educational facilities, including secure entries, ADA restrooms, roof replacements and mechanical and electrical upgrades. Exterior improvements were also made to the track and field area and the parking lot.

In addition, 10,000 sq. ft. of classrooms were added, as well as a new 32,000 sq. ft. Early Childhood Center, which holds more than 200 pre-K and kindergarten students. Designed to bring the outdoors in, the Early Childhood Center is a welcoming facility for young students and their parents. A large tree with acoustical leaves is the highlight of the main entrance. The corridors feature a river that flows through the terrazzo flooring and whimsical trees grow from the doors of each classroom entrance.

As of 2023, projects at the Huron School District are still on-going; though, with some of the bond work coming in under budget, the district has been able to add to their original scope list.
